Tips on Artwork for Successful Mail Advertisements and Flyers
Improve your strategy for getting your advertising message to customers and prospects with full color print flyers or post cards. Improvements in print technology make color ads extremely affordable. Once you have a concept, consider my "5 Second Rule": You have 5 seconds to get a prospect's attention, otherwise they leave or your card ends up in the trash.
A simple message with outstanding graphics improves the opportunity to make a favorable first impression. Here is an example from a successful real estate campaign:
Notes: This real estate broker took my advice for keeping the message brief, and simple. The photo "message" combined with stunning graphics worked. From 500 post cards mailed, 10 clients responded as qualified leads, 1 listed their property immediately, and the home was sold within one month. The realtor has since ordered 3 new designs to continue the mail advertising campaign. Here are examples of artwork for 2 other clients.
Notes: The reverse mortgage broker wanted an ad to leave in restaurants frequented by senior citizens. The realtor mails post cards to the "snow belt", so the choice of photos is a subtle reminder of the advantages of Florida living.
Alternate Styles Include Vertical Format 6x4, 5x7 or Larger
Standard 4 x 6 inch mailers are the largest size you can mail at post card rates. Anything larger is first-class, which is currently around $.15 more. Consider mailing cost before specifiying larger mailers to save more on postage than the cost of my artwork (based on 1000 mailed). Here is a vertical style custom designed for a pizza menu flyer:

Having artwork filed away on your computer or a CD, you have the freedom to shop around, and you can reorder printing if I'm not available! REMINDER: I don't sell printing but contact me if 5000 full color 2-sided UV finished flyers for around $180 sounds attractive (including tax and freight). Custom artwork is additional and paid to me separately, starting at $100, and then I introduce you to the printing company for wholesale pricing.
